JAX-WS 2.1

JAXWS 2.1 is rename of JAXWS 2.0.1, its continuation of JAXWS 2.0.1 with different version number. This renaming was required in order to implement JAXWS 2.1 Maintenance Release specification (JSR 224) and to follow RI naming convention.

In this version of JAXWS we plan to fix issues such as #7, #22, integrate JAXB 2.1 features such as #38, #201 and #216 and WS-Addressing and JAXWS 2.1 MR specification.

Detailed Plan and Milestones

Soon after JAX-WS RI 2.1 was released we realized that one of the underlying specification WS-Addressing WSDL Binding is declared dead by WS-Addressing working group. This caused us to pullout JAX-WS 2.1 specification and JAX-WS RI 2.1 release. The reason for this pullout was to remove references from JAX-WS 2.1 MR specification and release JAX-WS RI again with the updated spec.

JAX-WS 2.1 MR specification and updated javadoc is submitted for 30 days review at JCP. We are working on releasing JAX-WS 2.1.1 subjected to the approval of re-spun JAX-WS 2.1 MR specification.

JAXWS 2.0.1 is a major re-architecture of JAXWS 2.0 for performance and pluggability.
